With an expanded feature set and redesigned user interface, Motive 2.0 advances its precision human and object tracking capabilities across VR, animation, movement sciences and robotics applications. Notable new features include: Continuous Calibration, active marker and active rigid-body based skeleton tracking, AMTI Genlock sync support, and new system latency metrics for better data analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Features & Enhancements<\/h5><\/div>\n\n\n\n

  • Continuous Calibration:<\/strong> This long-requested feature maintains the calibration of your volume through regular usage. Motive now tracks markers that move throughout a majority of your volume to collect samples and re-evaluate them against the original calibration. As a result, Motive can now auto-adjust to minor volume alterations without requiring a full system re-calibration. External factors, such as slight camera displacements, which would have degraded calibration quality are now overcome by the software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Active Marker Tracking:<\/strong> Users are now able to track actively labeled markers, allowing non-unique rigid bodies with unique active labels. Mass-produced HMDs, weapons, controllers and scene elements can all be tracked simultaneously within a volume with identical marker placement – using strobed LEDs to create unique patterns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Rigid Body Refine:<\/strong> Recalculating a rigid body definition to make it better fit its associated markers is now a supported feature. This is particularly helpful when using rigid bodies for measurement or defining a new rigid body. Watch Now<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Probe Tracking:<\/strong> OptiTrack is including the initial tools to create probes in Motive. This will allow you to set the pivot point of a rigid body to a precisely calculated location by rotating the rigid body around the probe tip. Once a probe has been created, the pivot location can be used to create virtual markers in your scene.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Persistent Settings:<\/strong> Overall software settings and device configurations are now saved when you close Motive, ensuring your prior configurations are restored upon restarting.HMD Calibration: Our new HMD Calibration tool makes HMD integration and tracking a breeze. Motive can now utilize the HMD tracking data to automatically calculate and place the pivot point at a proper location for VR applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • AMTI Genlock Support:<\/strong> Added support for reference clock synchronization with AMTI force plates. This allows AMTI force plates to keep their synchronization with Motive over long recordings with no frame drift<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • System Latency:<\/strong> Latency measurements have been greatly improved in Motive 2.0, which now reports overall system latency along with software latency. With the upcoming release of NatNet 3.0, users can query Motive for timestamps at specific events in the processing pipeline to derive the processing latency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
